IMB is excited to announce our Summertime Soiree Series!

June 6, July 11, and August 8……Saturdays at 7 PM

…3 concerts in our temporary home inside the magical, stained glass-adorned Trinity Episcopal Chapel adjacent to a medieval courtyard

at 371 Delaware Avenue in downtown Buffalo, NY.

Our dreamy, rebuilt Steinway (many thanks to piano whisperer Robert Sowyrda) is on loan here, safe from the construction dust and debris for the coming months at our Pennsylvania Street cafe location.

It is our intention to keep this instrument in the most capable hands, whether as a regular showcase for the beautiful jazz-classical inspirations of resident pianist Krista Seddon, director of ensembles at Trinity Episcopal Church, or at one of our benefit concert events coming to Trinity this summer.

The first of these, (SAVE THE DATE!) June 6, at 7PM will feature

The Scopes

– singer Anandhi George and pianist Michael Serio – present a show that brings together the timeless songcraft of two iconic singer-songwriters — Joni Mitchell and Billy Joel — in an intimate concert experience that goes beyond the familiar.

Alongside beloved songs from both artists, the program ventures into the classical world that shaped and inspired them, revealing the deeper musical roots beneath some of pop music’s most enduring works. From the impressionistic colors of Mitchell’s jazz-inflected poetry to the driving piano virtuosity of Joel’s rock anthems, the evening weaves together a rich tapestry of American musical storytelling — and the classical voices that whispered in their ears.

Whether you’re a lifelong fan or a curious newcomer, this is a concert that will leave you hearing all of it with fresh ears.

Designed for attentive listening, this concert transforms a large space into an intimate musical conversation. Reception to follow.

Tickets:

$20/General, $15/IMB Member, $30/Family

We ask for your support in reaching our goal of offering music to listeners of all ages and abilities at the historic storefront, 315 Pennsylvania Street, making it universally accessible for all audience members and artists.

We hope you will plan to join us June 6, July 11 (Artist TBA) and August 8 for the fabulous Little cake Cover Band, when Little cake performs original music accompanied by a full band for an unforgettable show! littlecakemusic.com

Onwards, with deepest gratitude,

~Elise
