To our members and the wider community of music and arts lovers,
We are excitedly planning the first ever IMB/Trinity event series in our temporary home inside the magical, stained glass-adorned Trinity Episcopal Chapel adjacent to a medieval courtyard on Delaware Avenue in downtown Buffalo, NY.
Our dreamy, rebuilt Steinway (many thanks to piano whisperer Robert Sowyrda) is on loan here, safe from the construction dust and debris for the coming months at our Pennsylvania Street cafe location.
It is our intention to keep this instrument in the most capable hands, whether as a regular showcase for the beautiful jazz-classical inspirations of resident pianist Krista Seddon, director of ensembles at Trinity Episcopal Church, or at one of our benefit concert events coming to Trinity this summer.
The first of these, (SAVE THE DATE!) June 6, at 7PM will feature The Scopes — vocalist Anandhi George and pianist Michael Serio — who present an evening of songs and piano miniatures that bridges folk tradition and contemporary classical music. Featuring works by folk artists like Patty Griffin and Joni Mitchell alongside lyrical compositions by Chick Corea and Billy Joel, the program moves between voice and solo piano to explore the quiet emotional moments that shape our lives. Designed for attentive listening, this concert transforms a large space into an intimate musical conversation.
We ask for your support in reaching our goal of restoring the historic storefront at 315 Pennsylvania Street, making it universally accessible for all audience members and artists. We hope you will join us June 6, and join our fund-raising movement!
With deepest gratitude!
Elise
