Today we celebrated as our dear friend and faithful piano technician, Bob Sowyrda and his side-kick, Bruce brought over a beautiful, white Baldwin baby grand (generously donated by Patrick Krempholtz at Holliday Hills Golf Course in Holland, NY. It’s 4’8″, but sounds more like 5″7″!) Our friend, Robert Then made the connection for us – thanks again, Bob!
It came in through the front door of IMB, protected by a silver spoon. It’s been very well cared for, and after a tuning it’ll be ready for 4-hands. Anybody? Nothing but blue skies from now on.

These guys know their way around a piano, and other instruments! Bruce is going to take a good look at Ethan Weissman’s handmade bass guitar, also generously donated to us.

“It’s just this little chromium switch here.”
Not screaming on a good day like this, but grateful and happy to have friends like these. We’re working hard to make IMB ready for music/art/literary events in the near future; YAY TEAM! We’re so excited and expectant, can you tell? – and no one seems to know how long gestation may take. Please contact us if you know a good painter!
What about ice cream? We think frozen treats would be just the thing to get us through this period of waiting, right? Yes! Evan Vafai and I traveled to Brooklyn last Fall to get advanced degrees in Gelato, but we opted for Sorbetto and Granita instead. We’re working on getting the necessary ducks in a row, and hoping our small-menu takeout window can open this spring/summer. Stay tuned, and thanks always for checking in with us!
:)Elise
